Overcoming Disappointments.

Isaiah 55:8‭-‬9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord .  “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Most times in life we experienced alot of challenges, disappointments, negative criticisms from even some of the closest persons in our circle. But one thing we can rest assure in is that God’s plan for us is totally different than the plans that we have lay out for ourselves, we just have to trust in him and let him lead. Sometimes in life it takes a great disappointment for us to strengthen our faith or put us in the right direction with God. Nobody knows what the plans of God until we submit ourselves fully to him.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

So no matter what our thoughts may tell you, in doubts:

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

And we can rest assured in him.

Proverbs 3:6

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Whenever in doubts always remember that God believes in you and he will equipped us with the right tools. He does not gives us what he knows we cannot bear. So just remember that:

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:13

Another thing that can discourage us is when we pray and expects an answer from God right away. But we need to understand that God’s timing is different from ours.

Psalms 27:14
Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord .

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28 KJV

We can surely rest assured in the Lord!!!

Unloved

Unloved means not loved, unwanted, unvalued, uncared for, feeling of neglect and unbeloved.

In Romans 8:37-39 speaks about God’s undying love for us and that nothing in this world can separate us from the love of Christ. In the second Chapter of my book “Broken to be blessed”, the title was “Unloved”. Alot of person’s in our society are struggling with feelings of neglect and unloved especially more frequently among the younger generations. Due to that people and even teenagers ended turning to drugs, sex and getting into trouble with the law. Romans 5:8 states that Christ died for us while we were still sinners and that shows how much he loves and cares for us. We were created specifically by God for his intended purpose. What the devil does is trick us to believe a lie that we are nothing and present negative energies to drain us mentally and spiritually to steal our joy. God’s love for for us is undying, gracious, unconditional without boundaries. He is slow to anger and abounding in love and faithfulness(Psalm 86:15)

The beginning of my journey….

I started writing my book at the age of 15yrs old and i ended up giving a family friend to edit and read it over for me but somehow i never gotten the chance to retrieved it from that person. I try making contacts but failed on numerous occasions. Times fly by and years and in my late 20’s i attempted to write again but somehow the book vanished. Earlier this year i was praying hard because the Lord placed it in my heart to share my story with others who are in similar situations or even worst than myself was growing up. I was brought up in a broken home where my mother and father were seperated and my mother was left to raised all four children, unfortunate events occurred in my life that caused me to come face to face with all forms of evil that the world have to offer. I fought through the trials and tribulations although at times i feel like giving up but through it all i prevail and i can now share my story with the world. My new book “Broken to be blessed” (Discovering hope in the midst of brokenness) is a autobiography about myself. In this book i bare myself to the world speaking about the abuses, struggles and unfortunate events i faced as a child growing up. My heart pains to see the things that are happening in today society that are kept hidden, as family secrets,  and pushed aside yet someone out there is being broken. I spent years hiding in a shell accepting who i am and blaming myself for all the mishaps because i didnt take the time to deal with the pain. It later was transformed into fear, low self esteem, suicidal tendencies for most aspect of my life. I was afraid to speak out about what i been through fearing for my life and what people would think or say but in the end i found a friend named (Jesus) and he showed me the way…Embark on this journey with me as i share my story hoping that it will touch, inspire, motivate, sheds light and draw someone closer to God….

Experiencing brokenness?

Psalm 147:3 NIV                                He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Meaning of brokenness:-Forcibly separated into two or more pieces; fractured: a broken arm; broken glass; (2)Sundered by divorce, separation, or desertion of a parent or parents: children from broken homes; a broken marriage.(3)Having been violated: a broken promise. Subdued completely: crushed, sorrowful; a broken heart, a broken spirit.

We all struggle with some form of inadequacy in life but it’s how we take the negative and turn it into something positive to aid others in their similar journey.

I experienced brokenness at an era in my life and I pray that God’s word be spoken through me be a light in aiding whoever reading this that are struggling from brokenness or facing their own trials, grief and burdens.

I consider myself grown up into a broken home reasons being my mother and father was separated when I was a young child growing up, I ended bouncing around right up into adolescent struggling to find my identity in the world, in the wrong places. I finally met Christ and I had one foot in church and another in the world but it was an ongoing struggle for me, fighting a inner battle within myself because inside I was dying spiritually. But I finally surrender it all to God who is our great physician, who restores us from our brokenness.

Psalms 34: 18 states The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Hosea 6:1 states that God loves the broken who draws nigh into him.

But the Lord says in Exodus 14:14 ( I will fight for you ; you need only to be still.)

Let our brokenness becomes wholesomeness to us and in the process ” turn our mess into a message”( excerpt from my new book “Broken to be blessed”).

Allow the Lord to heal your wounds by forgiving and letting go and let the presence of the Lord be seen in us.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Can a Christian keep Malice?

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Ephesians 4:31 KJV
Yes it is easy to avoid that person who is always slandering you behind your back and not call it malice but deep down inside if you check yourself you realize you have been hurt by whatever bad rumors circulating about you. But is it right to keep it ? No! Malice is something that will eat on your soul as a Christian. It does not come from God it is a plan of the devil and eventually it will consume you. Yes I know sometimes that person can rub you the wrong way but it’s better to sit that person down and let them know what they do or say offends you instead of keeping it in your heart. As Christian’s we need to walk by the spirit and not by the flesh, avoid conflicts with others. In alot of churches person’s carrying animosity for another whether it be speaking bad about that person, gossiping, backbiting which most person’s fall victims of just simple hatred for each other.  Colossians 3:1- 4 speaks about keeping your minds set on things in heaven not think about things on the earth. You are dead to the things of this world. Your new life is now hidden in God through Christ. We need to cleanse our heart of all unrighteousness and ask the Lord to allow his holy spirit to work within us.  Ephesians 4:30-32 is a good example. In doubts reads these scriptures to guide you.

God’s Love for us..

What is love? Love is a variety of different emotional and mental states, typically strongly and positively experienced, that ranges from deepest interpersonal affection to simple pleasure.

What is Agape Love?  Agape love was also used by the early Christians to refer to the self-sacrificing love of God for humanity, which they were committed to reciprocating and practicing towards God and among one another.

Have you ever been in love? Did you love that person unconditionally or just a crush? Well rest assured that God’s love for us is unfailing, vastly and limitless. Nothing or no one can replace the love that God have for us. He doesn’t judge or love us by our character and our worthiness to him.

God’s love for us is demonstrated each and everyday to us. His love is everlasting, he proves to us how much he loves each and every one of us by sending his only son to die on the cross for us. How much more evidence do we need? He sacrifice his one and only son to set us free from the devil’s captivity. John 3:16 demonstrates that to us. God’s love to us is steadfast, (Psalms 136:26) his love is comforting and he proves to us that he lay down his son life for us. John 15:9-17 tells how God tells us how to love one another and to keep his commandments and abide in his love. And further down he promises to grant us whatever we ask of if we abide by him. God’s love is unconditionally. Psalms (103) speaks and shows the love David had for God, let us try to follow David examples and give God the love he deserves by following his commandments and live a virtous life.

How to overcome Pride.

How can we get rid of pride? I often ask myself that question. It doesn’t matter which background we’re from we fail at times as Christians. Being humble hearted is one the best attribute as a Christian. Pride is from the devil and if we dwell in it, it can eventually destroy us. Sometimes we fail at things and instead of having humility we let our pride get in our way. One of my favorite scripture in the Bible is Proverbs because it talks alot about humility and pride.

Proverbs 11:2

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.

Humility is the foundation of all virtues but pride is the foundation of all sin. We all in our life fall short and sometimes to  even pride. No-one is perfect but we can all strive for perfection.

Johnathan Edwards points out seven symptoms of prides let try to identify them to see if any is among us and try to change within.

(1) Fault-finding

We tend to always find faults of others and talk about it among each other casting criticisms.

Edwards writes,

The spiritually proud person shows it in his finding fault with other saints. . The eminently humble Christian has so much to do at home and sees so much evil in his own that he is not apt to be very busy with other hearts.

(2)Harsh Spirit

Proverbs 16:18

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Person’s struggling with pride tends to speak harshly of others casting judgements and sins with contempt.

Edwards writes, “Christians who are but fellow-worms ought at least to treat one another with as much humility and gentleness as Christ treats them.”

(3) Superficiality

Proverbs 29:23

One’s pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.

When pride lives in our our heart we are more concerned with how others view us than being humble and living a simple life.

(4) Defensiveness

Proverbs 21:4

Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin.

Edwards says, “For the humble Christian, the more the world is against him, the more silent and still he will be, unless it is in his prayer closet, and there he will not be still.”

(5) Presumption before God.

James 4:10

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

(6) Desperation for attention.

Proverbs 27:2

Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

Do not focus on what you can receive from this world but focus on your salvation with Christ. Do not be confirmed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.

(7)Neglecting others

2Timothy 3:2

For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy.

In this society that we are living in now we often overlook the poor and needy. But the Bible speaks about being there for them. We tend to more gravitate towards the upper class, person’s in high society or with power and we scuffle and turn away from person’s who are less fortunate but Bible speaks about love. If we can’t love someone else how can we love ourselves. Let’s us all reflect and work on being perfect in the sight of the Lord…

My Purpose

So today August 22 I was brought into this world. It’s a blessing to still be among living, it’s a chance to make it into the kingdom. I used to be the party pooper type every “drum pon” roll I had to be there worst a night like this I had to be drinking and partying hard with my besties. But the Lord snatched me from that part of life and I don’t regret it one bit. Today I can say I’m blessed to be home with my kids relaxing, reading his words and meditating on how far he has brought me from. The journey isn’t a easy one but he will always be there for you no matter what’s the circumstances just call on him. I finally realized my purpose and I’m happy to say I’m ready to walk in it. Blessings…

 Journey in Christianity

What do you want from life? How can you be the best person you want to be? Who are you pleasing? Ask yourself these questions! Often we live our lives to look good in the eyes of others but not pleasing in the sight of God.We live above our means and then in the end it affects our families and our spiritual relationship with God. We are created by God to live an extraordinary life, when we discover God’s vision for our life we will forever be changed. One thing i know for sure when everyone vanish from your life friends & family there is still that one person you can look to the Almighty God. He never leaves our side he is a good listener. If you haven’t trust in Christ alone for salvation then now is time to start your journey. It won’t be a easy one but gives us the strength and courage to go on daily. You might have a few hurdles along the way a lot of rejection but continue pressing on and never cease praying and having that alone time with God. I personally struggle sometimes with weaknesses but i communicate with the Almighty and allow him to work on me and through me. God will eventually remove the bad habits within us. Jer 17:7 says “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. God will work in our lives and eventually we will conform to him.Do not allow the distractions from life and discouragements to hold us hostages instead step out in your purpose allowing God to mold us. ” Do not allow today’s circumstances to keep your from moving towards tomorrow’s promises”.
Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

How fulfilling are we in this life?

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

At times I would sit and ask myself,” am I fulfilling my purpose in this world”? There are moments I often feel emptiness inside and confused because I know I am not just placed on this Earth to eat, live and breathe but also to impact someone’s life. We may not know our directions that the Lord is leading us in but he tells in Proverbs 3:5 to trust in him and not only that but he will also direct our path. Are we answering to our calling? Do we listen to the still voice inside that’s leading us to make a difference in this world? We are not created for man’s purpose but for God’s purpose in this world and he have a plan for you and for me. Ask yourself ;what am I’m going to do today to impact someone else life? Are you choosing the path to life- to God, or is life simply choosing you? Recently in church I kept saying to myself this doesn’t feel right I think there is more to me than just attending service on a weekly basis. How can I help someone? How can I impact someone else life? What am I going to do today that matters?

Whoever you are, whatever your life experience, talents, physical abilities or role- you have a purpose! We are created to know God for ourselves.(John 14:6).We are created to use the talents God gave us(Romans 12:4-8).We are created to grow in the fruits of the spirit(Gal 5:22-23).We are created to spread the gospel (Matt 28:19-20). We are created for God’s purpose( Eph 2:10). But before we can step out in our God given purpose we have to seek him entirely( Matt 6:33).
